ABOUT

Phillida Perry is creative producer based in Tauranga Moana bringing expertise in law, business, and the arts to filmmaking. She holds a masters in professional writing (first class honours) from the University of Waikato, 2021. 

Phillida’s production credits include feature documentary MS. INFORMATION (NZIFF, 2023) about pink-haired microbiologist Dr Siouxsie Wiles and award-winning short-doc SIOUXSIE & THE VIRUS. She co-produced PULLING UP STUMPS (2023) a short drama starring Sir Ian Mune and Mark Mitchinson.  She is now producing Mark’s gothic-horror A LOT WAS SAID LAST NIGHT set in a kauri forest of yesteryear.

Her latest film BREAKING THE MOULD (Doc Edge, 2024) offers a visceral glimpse into the ceramic creations of Jaime Jenkins. She will soon release KUNST a short documentary investigating female kinship developed through art collecting as 15 women contributed to an art-buying-group over 13 years.

Phillida has multiple factual and scripted projects in development including adaptation of Tracey Slaughter’s novella THE LONGEST DRINK IN TOWN and screenwriting sourced in her family’s intergenerational farming history in Wairarapa, New Zealand. 

Phillida seeks to celebrate the human spirit through her practice and promote change by focusing on issues of female empowerment, identity, purpose, and our deep human need for connection.
